Art Blevins - Bio

Art Blevins has 20+ years of experience as a guitarist and bass player, including work on 13 CDs in various styles of music: Rock, Metal, Bluegrass, Folk/Americana, Christian, and Classical. His experience includes time as a musician in the Nasvhille music scene (both rock/metal and country), as well as studio sessions in Nashville and other recording studios in Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Missouri, and Colorado.
In the local Denver music scene, Art has received radio airplay and has been recognized in the press for his work in such bands as All7Said (modern rock), and the progressive country/rock sounds of the Joe Kissack Band.
He is currently writing, recording, and performing with the instrumental Alt-Prog-Rock band The DAX Equation.
Art also recently contributed, as song writer and guitarist, to recordings by
Iambic Pulse.
Art also has a long history as
an educator. He has two master's degrees (from the University of Tennessee and the University of Missouri), and has done additional
graduate studies in Nashville at Vanderbilt University. He is a former college professor with teaching experience at Carson-Newman College, the University of Tennessee,
Vanderbilt University, and DeVry University. He is a published author, and currently teaches song writing seminars at CFU.
Art is also the author of a new song wrting book "Express Yourself: Songwriting for Everyone"

Art's years of experience as a musician and as an educator, along with his current involvement in the
local music scene comprise the foundation of knowledge that is passed
on to his students.
